Letter from Director

Core Continuum is the realization of a lifetime of dreams and goals to help people perform better, live better, and realize the best parts of themselves have always been there; nothing compares to the excitement and satisfaction of watching a client transform before my eyes as they reveal their strongest selves through hard work and sweat. I’m excited to be able to bring the highest-quality fitness instruction in the industry to the Midwest, and to present to the community a continuum of exciting new fitness modalities. Our offerings appeal to every individual – be you a professional athlete, someone recovering from illness or injury, or just looking for something “different” from the usual gym offerings. The programs and classes offered at Core Continuum comprise everything I love about fitness – movement, strength, adaptability, science, and results.

As a satellite center for Pilates Academy International, we offer an internationally-recognized comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training program with local Master Trainers and mentors; further, our Teacher Training program meets the requirements for inclusion in the Pilates Method Alliance Registry of Schools. We also offer teacher training in each of the various classes we offer, so that we continually have fresh talent to add to our team of professional instructors.

I am a product of a lifelong commitment to Pilates; I started practicing Pilates as a 10-year-old professional dance student in Denver, CO; by that age I had already sustained several serious orthopedic injuries to my knees, ankles, and spine, and my physical therapist had me on Pilates equipment 2-3 times per week in addition to treating my injuries with traditional physical therapy. I had no idea that I was performing Pilates exercises – it wasn’t until a few years later, at a dance program in Walnut Creek, California, that I first visited a Pilates studio and realized I had been practicing Pilates all along. I continued the practice throughout my dance career, as a teen with the National Youth Ballet in Massachusetts, at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts under the watchful eye of Kathy Grant, and finally, as a professional dancer in New York City, at Pilates on Fifth where I earned my first Comprehensive Instructor Certification through STOTT Pilates. I was fortunate enough to be among the first Master Trainers for Pilates Academy International and have spent several years educating and leading new instructors to the top of our industry around the world.

I hope you visit us to learn firsthand how effective and transformative our variety of contemporary Pilates and core training can be. No matter where you are on the road to fitness, you’ll feel at home and inspired in our studio.

See you in class!
